Busy Person's Retreat

A busy person retreat is obviously a retreat designed for the busy person, someone who cannot take a whole weekend off to make a retreat. The time commitment for this retreat is a half hour a day for four to five days meeting with a spiritual director. The spiritual director meets with you each day to guides you on your retreat. He/she may suggest certain spiritual reading, help you explore various prayer forms, walk with you through particular struggles that you may be having in faith or life. Along with the spiritual direction the retreatant chooses various other supplementary activities to help them during their retreat. This could be going to daily mass or morning or evening prayer, prayer before the blessed sacrament, walking the labyrinth, confession, various acts of charity. The retreatant doesn’t do all of these things but makes a commitment to what they will do that week. As part of the retreat experience all the retreatants gather at the beginning of their retreat on Sunday after the 11:15 mass and again Friday evening at the 5:15 mass as their retreat ends. This beginning and ending provides a larger community awareness that even on retreat we have the support of a community to help us on our journey. Take time out of your busy life and treat your self to a retreat even amidst your busy life. Learn to walk with the Lord where you are right here, right now.

No sleeping bag necessary!
